Why Read the Classics? by Italo Calvino

4.0

uhhhhhh, where were Calvino's essays on Ovid and Homer when I was doing a mythology module and crying myself to sleep before exams because the overall experience wasn't as fun as reading Percy Jackson?! anyway, now that we've been acquainted and Calvino successfully brought my interest back from the land of the dead, I might as well actually read The Odyssey and Metamorphoses. you know, to make up for the fact that I pretended I had through the length of the course, or only read the chapters we were given to analyse. and, seeing that Calvino provided me with beautiful insight about them, together with other classics.
