The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald
5.0
Canada - One of the best novels I've ever read. The story moves from a sunny beginning through some troubling times. It's very carefully written (not in a studied way; the author has clearly thought out how to write about disturbing topics without sensationalizing); the book is breathtaking, really.
I think it's best to read it without knowing where the story is going, because you wonder at first whether you're actually comprehending the action. Read the book description - which is really a review - if you want the general story; read a couple of reviews if you want to know the disturbing subject matter. (I really want a spoiler box!!!)
