5 stars not because it’s the most incredible book i’ve ever read but specifically because this book sent me to a place of immediate astral projection. she had cameras in my room while she wrote this book or something idk

???:$:8:839:&;&:@:&:&3 HELLO !?!?!?!?!
SOMEONE DEADASS TOOK MY 16 YEAR OLD’S SELF GREATEST AND MOST PROMINENT FAKE DATING DREAMS AND PUT IT INTO A BOOK???
for all intents and purposes, karina is LITERALLY WHO I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL??? bangladeshi american in new york with strict parents fighting for my life at all times. i literally had white boys (who did not want to date me and were Not ace clyde) try their best to fluster me because i was so … repressed.
IS THIS WHAT WHITE PEOPLE FEEL LIKE WHEN THEY READ BOOKS??????????????????????? REPRESENTED?????????!
i feel like a woman deranged. everything about this book caused me to spiral into a mix of Y/N insertion, PTSD, and insanity.
that being said, this is obviously a book about high schoolers and meant for young adults. but i still think it was also for me, someone still healing my inner child. no one at the grand old age of 25 is gonna call me a lionheart or whatever, and a lot of this book was a little corny, but in a nice way. that doesn’t change how sugary sweet adorable it was and how much i Loved it. so cute. so wonderful. so endearing. someone get a white boy to fall in love with me it’s fine i’m fine
