Some of these poems will stay with me like bruises: absolutely spectacular. Others I didn’t quite “get,” though I understand that’s not necessarily the point. I really appreciate the messages/themes in the collection, and Choi is 100% a genius, but personally I prefer poetry that’s more lyrical and less inscrutable.
