This book was like a breath of fresh air! From the time Clementine walked into Luke’s bar and he had the band play the song dedicated to her I knew I was gonna adore this book. LUKE BROOKS THE MAN THAT YOU ARE! OMG! For me he is next to neck with Rhett Eaton for my favorite cowboy! The scene with the waterfall was so amazing, but honestly everything Luke did was amazing. I loved how he brought the fire back into Clementine’s life but more importantly I love how she got her own fire back. When Clementine was about to complete her last race I was cheering on with everyone else.
Like Teddy I am Luke and Clementine’s biggest SUPPORTER! Idk if I would like for a man to call me “sugar” but if Luke did I would totally be here for it. Once I finished chapter 22 I actually started to cry because I didn’t want the book to be OVER! I am going to miss Luke and Clementine but atleast (hopefully) I’ll still be able to see their characters in the next couple of books in the series. I don’t normally like the brothers-best-friend trope but it wasn’t so bad in this. Gus’s reaction was totally understandable and it wasn’t so weird how he acted when he found out about Luke and Clementine. All in all I just know a Cowboy romance book HATES to see me coming!
*Siri play “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” please!*

“Sugar, you deserve to go out on your own terms. Just because you got dusted, doesn’t mean you’re done.”

Other quotes that MAKE this book for ME:
“Emmy coming back to Meadowlark was the best thing that ever happened to me. When she came back home, I never expected to become her friend, let alone fall for her. We’d spent most of our lives in each other’s periphery, but now she was front and center.”
“She asked for you.” Teddy shrugged. “Emmy never asks for anything. She just puts her head down and deals with things in the only way she knows how, by kicking shit around in her own brain. But she asked for you.”
“Some love stories burn hot and fast, but you two are more low and slow,” “It’s a strong and steady kind of love”
“Emmy came home broken, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who helped her put herself back together.”
“and I knew it was my fault for falling in love with Emmy, but I could never regret that. I would never regret crossing the line with her. We'd crossed the line together, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“Luke was so unexpected, especially for a woman who’d spent her life checking off things on her to-do list. Nowhere on there did it say “fall in love with Luke Brooks,” but I did it anyway.”
