Seven Blades in Black by Sam Sykes
3.0
This is kind of a hard one to rate. I had a pretty hard time getting sucked in early on with how all over the place the beginning of the book felt. I really liked the world building and Sal, but it just felt like the story was trying too hard to be too fast paced from the beginning and not able to focus on much depth. As the book progressed, though, I got more invested, but it wasn't until fairly close to the end when more of Sal's history is revealed.
I imagine I'll pick up more of this and hope the rest of the series sticks with the slower paced feeling towards the end.
