Crux by Kate Rudolph
3.0
This was a fun alien/dragon-shifter romantic suspense. It’s a novella so it was a basic intro to the world - which I liked because it didn’t take over the romance or action. Crux is looking for his mate but stumbles across an enslaved human instead. When he rescues Courtney he soon realizes *she* is his mate. He struggles between his attraction and assuming what is best for her.
It does end a little abruptly and leaves some questions unanswered, but I liked their HFN.
Narration:
Jonathan Waters is talented with voices, emotions, and cultivating the suspense aspect well. I didn’t click with the speaking voice for Courtney, but I’d be willing to listen to more of his work since that was such a minor part compare to how much I enjoyed the rest of it.
