A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd

5.0

'There was still magic in Midnight Gulch.
This is how I turned it loose...'

This book and its protagonist, Felicity Juniper Pickle, stole my heart. It is so sweet and so beautifully written. Felicity can see words floating in the air and coming off people. She collects her favorite words in her notebook. When she moves to Midnight Gulch, she makes quirky friends, eats magical ice cream (Chocolate Chip Pork Rind anyone?😆), and unravels a mystery that might finally allow her mom to settle down and stay. It's for people who love words, a family curse, a little bit of magic, and a good mood.

'It's so weird how life is so full of moving around - people coming and going, people passing by each other all day long. You never know which person's going to steal your heart.'
