Ooh boy, I need to stop picking these YA Wattpad published stories up. I am too old for this style of writing alongside this type of content. I’ve been there done that and need something more.

There are too many characters in this story and not only could I not really differentiate between them easily, I also just did not care to.

The world building was not substantive enough for my taste. My palette is not what you’d call delicate but my hunger for good worldbuilding knows no bounds and this story has very undefined boundaries, but the limits are evident and I wasn’t having it.

To be honest, the prologue especially felt very TVD but with necromancy instead of vampires and the feelings that concept inspires within me make me sigh exasperatedly instead of excitedly.

Also, being a bit of a phobia nerd, the blatant disregard for not including triskaidekaphopia (aka the fear of the number thirteen) in the extra content is just sacrilege. I don’t make the rules, I just state them emphatically and I am appalled that it was excluded.

So yeah, DNF @ page 80, and here’s hoping that I learn better.
