The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura

“The only mistake she has ever made was loving a man that doesn’t deserve her, and for my sake, I hope she’ll never want to remedy it.”

Ares Windsor the man you are! The man fell hard for Raven, and was there for her in a way I think a lot of men should be for their partners. I mean once he fell in love with Raven but oh boy did he fall HARD. I love when billionaires in billionaire romance books just spend money on the woman they love! Like man didn’t care how much ANYTHING was when it came to Raven whether it was her ring or her modeling agency.

“7 days. 168 hours. Tell me you’re still mine.”

NOW THIS SCENE TOOK THE CAKE! He did everything to get back to Raven – and I mean EVERYTHING!.
In the first few chapters before Ares and Raven got married I just KNEW this man was head over heel about her. Dude did more for Raven than he did for his actual “girlfriend” (more like raging fleabag). I love the nickname he gave to Raven and how I loved when he called her baby! I personally was swooning everytime he called her Cupcake. If Ares Windsor has 0 fans then I am dead.

“You are my entire world, and I’m going to do everything in my power to ensure that I’m deserving of you, that I’m worth coming back to.”

– Me personally I would’ve put all my stuff back in the closet and kissed my husband but I guess Raven is stronger than me…

I loved meeting the side characters, truly a mini-found family trope; I wish we had gotten more interactions with these side characters but I loved seeing mini hints of the future books for the rest of the series. I also wish he had gotten more plot besides HANNAH HANNAH AND MORE HANNAH! There was a lot of repetition between Ares, Raven, and Hannah and sometimes it was okay but other times I pleaded for Raven to stand up for herself. Raven was at a constant battle with her inner consciousness and her insecurities and I truly felt so bad for her. Me personally I would’ve cut my sister off wayyyy before if I a) had a sister and b) had a sister that acted like Hannah. Now here’s a pressing thought I have with this book: RAVEN AND HER HUSBAND WERE SO RICH YET THEY STILL COULDN’T KEEP HANNAH FROM THEIR HOUSE!? Plus their offices…REALLY!?

“I know I’m selfish, but I can’t help myself. I’ve loved you for as long as I can remember, Raven, and I always will. I wish I could promise you the carefree life that I want to give you, but being with me won’t be easy. What I can promise you is that I’ll always put you first, and I will do everything in my power to ensure you’ll never regret choosing me. So choose me, Raven. Please come home to me.”

I don’t think I’ve never wanted to punch a character more than I wanted to punch her! Hannah’s character is the definition of “rage bait” because I was raging mad every time her character showed up. When I found out what she had done 5 years before my mouth was literally on the floor. If you look up the word crazy in the dictionary Hannah’s name will be somewhere underneath the definition. Raven’s and Hannah’s mother was also rage bait, she fed into so much of Hannah’s actions therefore I hate her too! But their father is an amazing man. You know what, I don't like reading books where the mother of the fmc basically is her biggest bully.

“maybe true love is just two imperfect people choosing each other despite the obstacles they’ll face together, and decided that it’s worth it.”
