A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole
4.0
Wow. That was heartbreaking and yet so ridiculously beautiful. The ending was absolutely perfect and better than anything I could’ve asked for so, thank you Tillie Cole, for not completely ripping my heart to shreds. Your mercy is appreciated.
My favorite part of this book, by far, was the characters. I loved Poppy and Rune more and more each page and I genuinely enjoyed them as well as their development through the story.
I did feel like the book dragged a bit around the 60% to 70% mark but I absolutely flew through the first half and the last 20%.
I also want to note that there were two bedroom scenes in here but they didn’t bother me at all. They weren’t super detailed, and I thought they were actually really sweet, innocent, and overall well done.
Also, total bonus points for Rune being Norwegian, which I’ll admit is half the reason I picked this up. If you know me, you know I’m a lover of all things Norway so I thoroughly enjoyed the little Norwegian touches found in the book. My heart actually melted every time Rune said “Poppymin,” meaning “my Poppy.”
(Swiftie section: the first half reminded me of Cardigan and the second half reminded me of Bigger Than The Whole Sky)
4.5 stars. I’m going to go cry my eyes out some more.
