Lars Kepler has done it again! I know I always say that, but they truly are my favorite authors. They are the rulers of nordic noir. This book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the whole series for the full Joona effect. This book is terrifying and gruesome, which is true to the Kepler writing style. The twist was pretty wild, I definitely didn’t see that coming. There’s some red herrings that throw you off. Joona Linna is probably one of my favorite book characters ever written. He is an amazing detective, relentless, and yet so deeply flawed and fucked up. He makes a great protagonist. It did leave off on another cliff hanger, so I am DYING for the next one already! If you like fast-paced, violent serial killer crime novels, I highly suggest picking up this book.
