This book was every bit as amazing as I thought it would be! This book runs mostly concurrently with Pretty Wreck. The magnitude of what Iris has been dealing with and how Alexander has been manipulating everyone (although do we know the full extent? Stay tuned!) comes to the fore front but luckily the guys have realized this and are presenting a united front to deal with his tyranny. The cliffhanger about broke me. I am so glad Iris has Cas (and the others) to lean on at this point because it looks like things are about to get ugly in Pretty Black.

J.R. Gray does such an amazing job with these characters and weaving a story that is so tumultuous that you can’t help but feel the emotions the characters are feeling. Not all authors have this ability, and really only the truly amazing ones can do this in my opinion.

This book deals with some pretty heavy topics and the angst level is high. J.R. Gray gives a great explanation and trigger warnings at the beginning.
