The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks by Mackenzi Lee
4.0
Okay, I hate to say that this book really disappointed me, but as a third installment, it totally did. As an extended epilogue? Loved it! There were bits and pieces that I absolutely adored seeing, like the continuation of Monty and Felicity’s storyline and the fact that neither of them lost their character but also had totally grown (without being perfect, of course) and the internal monologue of Adrian, where I’ve never seen such a thorough description of panic in a book. The pieces I liked were so strong, but paired with a lackluster storyline that tbh, I’m still not sure where it went at times, was a really dissatisfying experience. I think it’s just incredibly difficult to follow up the excellent Gentlemens Guide with an equally as gripping story, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark. I do recommend reading it if you’ve got some spare time and truly love the characters as for me, it was still worthwhile to get the Where are they Now of Monty, Percy, and Felicity. 3.5 stars, rounded up.
