For what it was, The Factory was a fine enough sort of bizarre and vaguely dreamy story. The all encompassing workplace, the takeover of the surrounding land and wildlife, the unknown purpose of the organization and mindless tasks - it’s an interesting read of corporate culture and capitalist / consumerist business. I do feel that as it just starts ramping up, it ends. I would prefer to see this as a more traditional full length novel, or even just adding 50 pages to flesh it out instead of ending before really starting.
