I picked this up after I saw a reel about the MMC fucking the FMC while his pet tarantula crawls over her and then kept getting posts praising and recommending this book. I probably should've read more before I picked it up cuz idk what I just read. I wish I could erase the existence of this book from my mind. I almost thought that I'd pretend I never read this.

There is so much to unpack here and idk where to even begin. Everyone kept calling Malachi a psychopath and dangerous but according to me, he was the least problematic character in this book and that's saying something.

This book is divided into two parts, the first showing how Olivia and Malachi became foster siblings and how their relationship changes over the years, till the age of 18 and 19 respectively. Part one ends with Olivia testifying against Malachi which results in him ending up in jail.

Part two starts with Malachi getting out of jail after serving 8 years. Now he's back to take his revenge for Olivia's betrayal.

There was honestly no plot, no character development, no actual feelings from either side. Nothing at all. Olivia was a total bitch. She kept enticing him and making moves and passing hints at him and when he acts on it she acts all offended and like "No Malachi you are my brother".
He lost his virginity to her and has only ever been with her, and she apparently loves him but has fucked around while he was serving time because of her. Then in part two, she literally invites a random biker to go to the Halloween party without ever having seen his face (who was Malachi by the way) and then doesn't even stop him when he grabs her and fucks her at the party and she loves it and she still hasn't seen his face cuz he's wearing a mask to hide his identity. Then he kidnaps her and chains her and does a lot more while still wearing the mask and she still loves it.

But the minute he revealed his face, suddenly she is back to her senses and happy to see him and shortly after confesses to loving him. Like what the actual fuck???

The fact that Malachi confesses to fucking Olivia after drugging her and her not even batting an eye at that just left me speechless. Also, the whole obsession these two had with referring to each other as brother and sister while fucking just made it that much worse.

Her parents were weird on a whole new level. Her mom literally paying someone to fuck her?????? And again making a legal contract to get her married so some rich dude at the end??? What was wrong with everyone in this book???

Even the smut was cringe inducing cuz who fucks someone over their dad's body while he's bleeding to death? And then there's a screwdriver involved. This book was just an overload of smut but not even in the good way cuz the author tried to add wayy too many things within this short book.

HELP!!! I just saw that is book is part of a duet????? Seriously?????
