River of the Gods: Genius, Courage, and Betrayal in the Search for the Source of the Nile by Candice Millard

This book really captures the excitement and sense of adventure during the time of Explorers. It transported me into a time where all these geographical mysteries were challenges to be conquered at all costs which must have been so exciting and captivating. Very very well researched and written well so I could understand all the complexities of the events which were happening. It is almost hard to believe that these explorers were people and not characters because they had such an essence about them, as well as their crazy actions which seem so insanely bizarre. Millard captured their characters very well  - to the point where I was just completely outraged or felt very defensive about certain people. A very interesting read that was both informative and read like an adventure novel. Possibly a bit biased towards Burton but nevertheless a great read.
