i wanted to love this so bad. i usually love katee’s work, and i loved the book before this, but this one was missing something. there was a lot of repetitiveness within this book, and as much as the characters tried to communicate, i don’t think they really got anywhere when trying to resolve their issues. the spice, as always with katee robert, was ridiculously hot, and that’s one of the main reasons i kept reading and finished the book. hoping that the rest of this series is better in terms of repetitiveness and communication. also, theo and galen still referring to each other as “friends” just sits oddly with me, not to mention the fact that everyone calls galen and meg “consort” instead of their actual names. feels very strange and dehumanizing to me, even though it’s probably part of royal culture.
