This was beautifully tragic and romantic.  Shannon is finally at a new school, escaping years of bullying. Finally able to get a breath and be happy, and then she gets knocked out by a rugby ball to the head on her first day. 

Johnny is mad at the world, mad about his injury, his body not healing, and on top of it he's hangry. But he doesn't expect to hit anyone with his stray ball. He knows in an instant that he's meant to take care of this girl, no matter how much they both try to resist.
