North of Normal: A Memoir of My Wilderness Childhood, My Unusual Family, and How I Survived Both by Cea Sunrise Person

I read North of Normal in a single weekend - it’s that good. I quickly turned around and ordered Cea’s second book, Nearly Normal, and read it every chance I got. I’m currently reading North of Normal again and taking my time. As subjective as book reviews are, I think this is one of those books that has a little something for everyone. Cea’s brutally honest storytelling actually transported me into the book. The way she talks about her family in such a loving way, even after all they put her through as a child, is inspiring. As I’m putting my own stories out into the world, this book is a loving reminder that there doesn’t have to be a villain. Sometimes, our stories are a collection of everyone around us just trying to do their best.
