Once again, we're presented with a fantastic story in the Tale of Darkwood series. Stacy Upton Bracey has quickly become one of my favorite authors to read.
This is a short story to our secondary character, Henna and her tale was filled with emotion.
Born with an odd shade of blue eyes, and a gift to see visions, Henna and her mother does their best to provide relief to those who are sick in her village. Using medicine to cure, one would think the village would be thankful for their kindness but instead, they were called witches because of their skills. Even though they were treated with hate and fear, the mother and daughter continue to help in any way they can. But of course, fear and hate will always be hard to look past. (Which has my blood boiling with the huge amount of disrespect these two go through helping people who don't deserve it 😤)
I love how real these characters become and the raw emotion I feel reading though this book. Well written, perfect pacing with amazing characters made this to be a quick read. Another great read.
