Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

5.0

Does this really deserve 5 stars? Was it "amazing" ... you know I can't really say that, but I enjoyed this more than some of the 4-star books I've read, so I wanted that distinction for my own records. When I saw that this was available for download (immediate download even) I was quite excited. I hadn't been keeping up on things, so I didn't even know it was out.

I had quickly read "Brooke" ... a novella (also available at my library) and it did a good job of getting me "back" into this world. Everything flowed (unlike the last book, where our characters were separated, and the different point of views were also telling different stories. Here the POV shifted between Perry and Aria, but it was still pretty much the same story all along). Formatting ... I mentioned the left-justification in the first book bugged me ... and this book had a full justification. That doesn't impact the actual story at all, but it does impact me and my enjoyment somewhat! *Ü*

So ... not everyone survives, but it is a happy ending, I was happy with the conclusion to the series.

I also admit perhaps I'm reflecting on the series as a whole, although I did really like this book. I actually really felt the pull to go back to the first book, to remember what it was like to be introduced to Aria and Perry and this world for the first time. While I USED to enjoy re-reading books over and over, I haven't done that in years, as there is SO much new stuff out there. I didn't reread the entire first book, but enough to remember that yes, I really liked it from the very start!

I would recommend this series.
