My Best Friend, My Stalker by Jessa Kane
2.0
Well, it was definitely over the top. But not my cuppa.
I love an OTT Jessa Kane book, but not this one. There was a dark romance aspect to this one that just didn’t sit very well with me. Things were quite rough. It started with attempted sexual assault from a secondary character and felt like it ended that way with our leads. It had some sexy moments, but it wasn’t to my taste.
I understand that there are many fans of dark romance and over the top all-consuming heroes out there that will love this book. But I’m not one of them.
I give it 2 stars because it was written well and had some great parts that are very typical Jessa Kane. I appreciated that. But I can’t go higher than that simply because it left a bad taste in my mouth. If you’re not a fan of dark romance with dubious consent (which I can get behind sometimes, but not this time if that tells you anything) don’t read this. But if totally OTT, dark, stalker romance with dubious consent works for you, give it a shot. This is very reminiscent of the Jessa Kane / Alexa Riley co-auths and for me, that’s not really a good thing.
