Elise is definitely a woman of today. She’s liberated, free, open and very honest about her needs and wants. Blake who is a hockey player is extremely attracted to her and is interested in pursuing something but he is more interested in obtaining his grandmother’s 5 bedroom lake house that she refuses to sell to him unless he is in a serious relationship going toward marriage. So this book does become a fake dating romance with some extra on the side. Simon is a British man that she worked for in prior years. They kissed but she felt that they shouldn’t cross those lines so she left the job. However, Simon looked for her because he cared deeply about her and wanted a relationship with her. Simon in my opinion is the most like her in some ways. They are both a little unorganized and messy, but both go getters who work to achieve their goals. Yet Elise suffers from ADHD which causes her to really become forgetful and absentminded. Now Aiden our fireman is a great guy looking for a relationship with a nice girl and although him and Elise have been texting back and forth, rescuing her from mishaps seems to happen a lot. I must say the flirtatious talk between Simon and Aiden was interesting and Elise seemed to enjoy it as well. The openness of these four people trying to maintain and manage a polygamous relationship was very interesting. There are some very spicy and sweet moments between these people and yes swords do cross in this book. This was my first book by this author and the first with the Chicago Racketeers hockey team.
