I was kinda in love with the tone of this book (audiobook definitely helped with that). It’s almost haunting, although it’s certainly not scary. Gothic, in ways. One of those books that leaves me feeling empty (in a good way).

And yes, I’d only recommend this to Ali Smith/Deborah Levy/Cusk fans, or perhaps those who love the literaryest of lit fic and work that deals with womanhood and art in a kind of esoteric way.

I appreciated this a lot more the second time round, having read more Cusk (honestly this is very straightforward in comparison to Parade).  I think she is the perfect author for rereading — there’s always something more to appreciate.
