A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams

emotional mysterious sad tense medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? No

4.5

Love the dual timelines looking between 1938 and 1931/32, told from the POV of Lily Dane I love the depth and development of these characters! Great pace with the story building to a boiling point as secrets begin to be revealed, and as we see what happened between Lily and Nick in 1931/32.

I guessed a couple of plot twists but most of them surprised me.
I was completely absorbed in this one, it had a slow start but once it got going I didn’t want to put it down!! The ending was well done as we get closure with most of the story but also leaves it slightly open. It was also interesting to find out that a piece of the plot was based on a true story!

A Hundred Summers is definitely going to be one of my faves from Williams! I’ve read 4 from her so far and this one is definitely ranked at number 2, after The Golden Hour.
