I read this for the plot
No but seriously I loved this book. Speaking from the POV of a gay man The relationship development really feels organic, and it really felt like the the two main characters were real people with desires and flaws. I also really connected to Reece because I am also a gay athlete that had to overcome my own internalized homophobia or in his case, aversion to monsters.
My few critiques areI wish the we saw the friendship development between Cyrus and Reece a bit more, and I wish that Cyrus' backstory was a bit more fleshed out like Reece's is .
I loved the art, The cover being unique to the endless sea of romance books was a huge reason I picked it up. Also the little doodles of the characters at the beginning of each chapter is to die for!
