Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

5.0

4,5/5
How has the same author written The Poppy War trilogy, Babel and now this? I love all the books for different reasons and I’m in total awe of R.F Kuang’s versatility as a writer. Yellowface is an addictive novel about a white author who steals her Asian friend’s manuscript and publishes it as her own. It has taken the book community by a storm and rightfully so. The problematic, racist, plagiarist side of the publishing world has been in need of being exposed in this way. Not quite five stars, because the ending fell a bit flat.
