I read this slowly, just a few pages every few days, savoring every word of Rachel Held Evans' insights into the wonderfully mysterious, hard, and beautiful stories of the Bible. I found myself pulling out a highlighter and underlining passages, and I am already looking forward to reading it again. A wonderful read for anyone who loves the Bible but struggles with the weight of its historical interpretations and has difficulty believing in miracles, or just for anyone who wants to know more about a book that profoundly shaped our culture, our laws, and our understanding of the world. Outstanding.
