Cage of Souls by Adrian Tchaikovsky

2.0

I needed a sci-fi escape. In those moments, I often now turn to Tchaikovsky as his worlds are rich and it appears he writes with an almost frantic pace. However, I was slightly sceptical of "Cage of Souls" to start with as I am not much a fan of solar punk or prison novels. While Tchaikovsky does the best he can with that formula, even he can not escape the limitations of being a prisoner. A good romp but not Tchaikovsky's best. Only read if you are a fan of his work, solar punk, or prisoner drama...
