I thought maybe I’d like this better than the first book in the series because I like the friends-to-lovers trope, but sadly I was similarly unenthused by this. The dialogue felt cheesy and childish, Maddie flip flopped from not seeing Simon romantically to overnight thinking of him as a love interest, and Maddie and Simon felt like caricatures. I didn’t find this romantic or cutesy. Thankfully it was on Kindle Unlimited, so no harm no foul, but disappointing nonetheless.
