I love this book because it is the first time we meet the trickster Coyote and other skinwalkers. It is helpful to Mercy’s character development that we were able to finally spend time in the world of her heritage.

The “monster” of the book is not that entertaining but the entrance of Coyote makes up for it. I’ve read a few books with Coyote appearances and they are all great stories.
