I read this in a day...I rarely do that but that is how powerful this book is. A series of interconnected stories about the student uprising in Gwangju, South Korea and its brutal suppression.
Not an easy read... but quite brilliantly done. Despite the horror of the subject matter it is told with hope. A book about humanity in all its complexity

I think Han Kang does just that......anyone who reads this book will find their souls most definitely, well and truly addressed.
