DNF at page 150

I had such high hopes for this book. A speculative thriller? Count me in! Sci fi is out of my comfort zone, but I was willing to give it a try since it kept being called a "thriller"
While this may have thriller elements, it lost me when they started throwing in real science facts around page 110. It's too big brained for me. And there's nothing wrong with that! Someone else may enjoy that, but not me.
They also added a sea monster? Which I don't do monsters, so that was an unwelcome surprise. I could see the author was trying to add in some humor with the dialogue too, but it just fell flat for me.
I might try this book again at a later date, but now I know sci fi is most likely not my jam, and that's okay.
