When Amazon announced this short series by some of my favourite authors, I was all for it. This is the fourth book that I've read out of the five and this is by an author I've not read before. Like other books in this series, it was just too short. I wanted more.
This book is based on Evie Cruz, and she is a comic book illustrator trying to make a tight deadline. All she wants for Christmas is a nap. And maybe some ornaments for her naked Christmas tree. And while she is making a list, she wouldn’t mind unwrapping her sexy upstairs neighbour like a present. Luckily, the building’s Santa-themed party and a surprise sprig of mistletoe gives her the opening and the confidence to make all her wishes come true.
Like with the other books, this was just too small. I wanted more. I would have loved for it to be dual POV but obviously with the six chapters, it wouldn’t have worked. Though I would have liked one chapter at the beginning from Toby’s point of view and one at the end maybe before the Christmas party. I would have liked to see more from the neighbours as we only saw them when they set them up at the Christmas party.
I don’t think this was an insta-love vibes because you could see the build-up and the back story behind Evie and Toby. There were a lot of cute moments with Toby making decorations for Evie and how you could tell that man was falling hard from his first appearance. I liked the idea of a Santa party. However, it would never work for me because no one likes each other in our estate.
This book could be a stand-alone or a whole series about people finding love in the building.
Graphic: Sexual content and Grief

Minor: Death of parent and Alcohol
