A bit convoluted at times—as Stephen King’s stream-of-consciousness prose can often get—but there are some solid and memorable moments. For a long portion, this feels more like a collection of connected short stories (arguably Stephen’s strong suit), but the frame story that ties it all together is mostly just fine.
