✨This was going to be a 3-star book until the last 50 pages. The last few chapters really had my heart swelling with happiness. Everything seemed to be falling into place with Casey and I loved how much closure we got in the end of this book.

✨I think something that really took me out of this read though was the constant references to classic works of fiction. Some of which I have read and some of which I haven’t. I know this is a book about a writer and their writing but if someone wasn’t familiar with a lot of those more complex novels then this would not be a great way to get someone to power through the book.

✨Another very personal thing for me that took me out of this book while reading was the medical anxiety this book gave me. I’m not great with medical issues and situations and I should have done more research but there were times that I was not doing well and had to come back to the book to continue.

✨Overall, if you love books with callbacks to other famous novels and slow-burn reads then this one would be a great read for you!
