I picked this up because I loved the movie as a kid and I'm really glad I did. This book once again proves my theory that the book is always better than the adaptation. This story is short but it leaves an impact and I really wish I had gotten to read it when I was the demographic it was intended for as I would have probably loved it even more. I will be passing this on to my sisters and my nieces to read as they are as obsessed with mermaids as I am :)
