While The Gunslinger feels very slow and The Drawing of the Three is very action packed, I think The Waste Lands was a great combination of slower parts and action/suspenseful parts. I'm just SO SO enamored with King's storytelling ability and characters, even creating an almost new language some of the townfolk whom Roland and his ka-tet stumble upon. We also get the CUTEST animal companion in this book!!!
I'm still clueless as to where this is leading us....other than to the Dark Tower...but I'm 100% enjoying my ride there! I'm so ashamed I decided years ago not to read these and so far I think these are some of my favorite King books!!
My friend said to have Book 4 (Wizard and Glass) on hand to start right after this and now I see why! I'll be diving into it in the next few days!
