This was a book that I am so happy I've read. I'm glad that I decided to read this because it was such an amazing, emotional book that I couldn't help but love. I really felt for all of the characters and the concept was so interesting. I couldn't stop reading this book!

There was a perfect mix of science fiction, dystopian and romance. I didn't feel like any of it was too overpowering. I breezed through all 606 pages of this book and was never bored. So much was going on inside of Melanie's body. I loved how this was written from Wanda's perspective. Being able to hear the internal conversations made this unique from other sci-fi and dystopian books that I've read.

The characters were the main focus. I was great to see the relationships formed between Wanda and everyone else, as well as Melanie and everyone else. I also enjoyed reading about the flashbacks or memories that Wanda sees from before she became a part of her. I also really liked how Wanda felt the emotions that Melanie experienced. It made the reader unsure about how to feel, in a good way!

Overall, I loved this book! It was a pleasant surprise. I know that there are rumors of more books in the series, but personally, I don't want there to be another. I liked how this was left a little open-ended. If she does end up writing a sequel, I'd love to have it be written from alternating perspectives of Wanda and Melanie. I would want to see how they express emotion without the influence of the other.
