“Daniel was a vacation for me, I realized—like a break from my own brain or the reality of my current crappy situation. And we had that easy flowing conversation that you so rarely find with someone.” ~ Alexis Montgomery

I really love Daniel. He felt so genuine towards Alexis, especially when she asked him to teach her things. He never made fun of her and was always eager to show her how to do things on her own. I felt that Daniel and Alexis were quite similar in many ways, particularly when it came to family legacy, though they viewed it from different perspectives.

Alexis' feelings about the pressure from her family felt so authentic and I loved that she had a friend who genuinely wanted her to be happy. Bri was that friend—she told Alexis how things were but never forced her, allowing Alexis to figure out her own happily ever after.

I was initially apprehensive about the age-gap relationship, especially with woman being the older, as I had never read that before. However, I found that I didn't care and actually loved it!
