I liked a lot of this book and it's mainly my beefs with supernatural elements in literature in general that took down the rating from four to three. I just get frustrated with the BIG PLAN element of plots where the point is "we let you live because we're getting you to point B where you'll do something really cool for us which we've meticulously planned"and of course the evil plan where they let someone live always doesn't work. The historical settings didn't annoy me like in other books because the main characters were fictional, but it all felt like from that trend a few years ago where historical wrongs are corrected by rightful violence now.
