A Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark

4.0

This was a really good read! I'm so glad I gave it a chance, since I really didn't like the prequel to this which was more of a short story. I love fatma's mother sayings, the nice zingers, perfectly timed quotations and verses of both poetry and scripture, even got some really interesting old cultures in there, not to mention Djinn! And then there's the social commentary, a lot of it, really well placed. Never interrupting the story, never seemed out of place, and I really enjoyed it.
