Behind the Red Door by Megan Collins

5.0

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I think Megan Collins is just getting better! This one was similar to her last in the sense that a female is in pursuit of what happened?! Synopsis— When Fern Douglas sees the news about Astrid Sullivan, a thirty-four-year-old missing woman from Maine, she is positive that she knows her. Fern’s husband is sure it’s because of Astrid’s famous kidnapping—and equally famous return—twenty years ago, but Fern has no memory of that, even though it happened an hour outside her New Hampshire hometown. And when Astrid appears in Fern’s recurring nightmare, one in which a girl reaches out to her, pleading, Fern fears that it’s not a dream at all, but a memory.

This book was a ride! I kept guessing throughout. I had suspicions, some right, some surprising. Even still the twists shocked me! Man, it was so messed up! Fern throughout the book is trying to get her repressed memories to come back to the surface. What comes up is shocking. I read this book quickly & it pulled me out of the slump I had been in. It was dark and twisty and a great mystery. I highly recommend checking out this book out and also The Winter Sister!
