The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

3.0

➸ 3/5 stars!
Anger made things easy. Love made things complicated.

– this quote sums up a good chunk of the book!

I feel like I went into this book with pretty high expectations…I mean this wasn’t the worst romantasy book I’ve read but at the same time it also wasn’t the best. I felt like the pacing of this book was kinda weird – honestly

Things I enjoyed:
- Vincent’s personality
- Oraya and Raihn’s “relationship”
- Oraya’s magic (I wish the story built more off of her powers rather than keeping them so hidden)

Things I didn’t enjoy:
- The pacing of the story, the pacing was out of place for me and sometimes really slow
- Lack of plot - sometimes the trails didn’t make any senses
- Not much was going on and the things that were happening like the MAJOR things where just sprinkled into the plot here and there (Like wdym Vincent had been doing all of that this whole time?!!)

What I would’ve liked more of:
- More scenes with Vincent and Oraya!
- The relationship between Oraya and Raihn (I loved their banter but towards the end of the book I felt like their connection started to be rushed)
- I wanted Oraya to unleash more of her inner feminine rage ESPECIALLY after what Raihn did to her

All in all the book started off with a strong start but for me as I read on I got pretty bored…
