5 large gigantic, blinding stars. You could not have asked for a better ending to this series. Jake and Conor were an amazing start to this series with Jarret and Maybe following them with a heartbreakingly real story and then finishing it out with Lorne and Raina, a tale of two people who feel so broken but whole together. MASTERPIECE that's the best way to describe it. Period.
I knew that I was gonna love Lorne just based on his protective nature that we saw glimpses of in the first two books, and seeing that extended to Raina really sent my heart into orbit. The things that Raina went through, I mean she was such a badass strong FMC that I loved her from the start. The way that they knew each other, and heard what they were saying without using words was some next-level soulmate shit that I ATE UP. The bracelets also were adorable they both wore. I just love them so much and seeing them become part of the fold with the family on the ranch finally just made me so happy, I am tearing up thinking about it lmao.
In the spirit of keeping this as spoiler free as possible, I just want to note that the final "battle" where everything comes to an end had me crying and on the edge of my seat because I expected NONE of it, a shock in the best way. Getting to see glimpses of the other two couples in this series just warmed my heart, I love these three couples so much, there are few series in that I have been this fully invested in every single couple but its hard no two when the family they created just tugs on my heartstrings in the best way.
I will be recommending this series to anyone who reads dark romance and will listen to my rantings because WOW. The way that the four of them came back from that one horrible night really showed how strong they were, especially when they were all together. This series broke my heart but also made it whole in the best possible way which are my favorite kinds of books. Just beautiful really, no bad things to say.
