Normally, I can’t stand a weak FMC but there was something endearing about Makani. When she meets Gio halfway into the book, I was rooting for her–as were her friends/sisters, Aspen & Jennifer–to take what she deserves and forget the people taking advantage of her. But your man can be your biggest hater and she’s on the cusp of finding that out before it ends on a cliffhanger. I’m a fan of the author’s Danger Family Series under her alternative pen name, and I can see that Gio had to walk so Dymon, Diesel, and Declan could run. Besides the slow pace and a small error where characters were mixed up, this was an okay read.
