This was a beautiful story about friendship, family, the $20,000 Pyramid show, a Wrinkle in Time, and being 12 in NYC in 1979. This was a compelling and lovely read. I couldn't put it down, but I wish I didn’t read the hype quotes at the beginning. They made me expect it to be more than what it is. What it is, is a story about a young girl’s life as she walks to and from school during grade 6, meeting friends and losing friends, and her thoughts about it all along the way, with a bit of a time travel mystery mixed in. I would have LOVED this book when I was 10.
