Coming from a community that is exactly to a tee like this one, I related to it so much. They are Asian, but the same values with family and religion are so universal and it gave me a glimpse into what their culture and lives are like. 

It tells you to not succumb to something that isn’t right, but it also values honesty. Confrontation within an African family is nonexistent, but it comes to a point where you have to choose your battles and if so it will allow more peace in your life. Like things will come into place. I loved this book and the movie. I’ll definitely reread, idc.
