So this book was literally torture for me. I had a really hard time reading it. First thing the focus was completley on audrey rose and how she was suffering since the ripper case. The details of the supposed mystery of vlad dracula coming back was so little and the book was really slow paced so i got really bored right from the first. And then the reveal that it was anstasia who was acting as dracula was kind of expected and at the same time it came from nowhere like there's no in between. I love audrey rose and thomas but this book just disappionted me stalking jack the ripper wasn't perfect but it was way better than this and i was looking forward to see what happens next and where thomas and audrey's story goes but it didn't go well for me. I usually don't like DNFing a book but i think i'm gonna do that with escaping houdini because if i read it it's going to get me into a reading slump and I DON'T WANT TO. I am sure i'm going to continue the series one day but it will have to wait for a while.
